Experience Timeline

Wells Fargo

Program Associate
Hyderabad, India (Jul 2024 - Present)
  • Quantitative Analytics Program (QAP): Part of the pilot QAP cohort for WF-I&P. QAP, a 6-month rotation program, is already a well-established system in WF-US for integrating quantitative analysts across various risk teams.
  • Capital Markets: Working on developing models related to derivative pricing of various asset classes under the Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB Risk) umbrella for my first QAP rotation.
Quant Analyst Intern
Bengaluru, India (May 2023 - Jul 2023)
  • Optimization: Worked on improving the numerical optimization framework used by the Wealth and Investment Management (WIM) line of business for allocating assets. Also explored multiple non-traditional numerical optimization techniques.
  • Machine Learning: Built and explored LSTM-based models for predicting Capital Market Assumptions (CMAs) and Tactical Asset Allocation (TAA) with large Time-Series datasets using TensorFlow.

Google Summer of Code (Python Software Foundation)

Student Developer
Remote (May 2022 - Sep 2022)
  • Parser Development: Worked closely with my mentors (Ondřej Čertík and Thirumalai Shaktivel) to build a state-of-the-art parsing module for LPython using re2c and GNU Bison. This parser is backward compatible with any Python source code. This parser was tested on multiple large codebases (like CPython and SymPy) to ensure robustness. It is also more than three times faster than the current PEG-based parser the Python interpreter (CPython) uses.

CSIR - CEERI

Research Intern
Pilani, India (May 2021 - Dec 2022)
  • Generative Adversarial Networks: Collaborated with my peer Bharat Agarwal on the project 'Improvement in Baggage Threat Detection in X-Ray images (GD-XRAY)' under the supervision of Principal Scientist at CEERI Pilani, Dr. Dhiraj Sangwan. Developed synthetic dataset of threat objects using a custom PG-GAN model. Used various image augmentation techniques to place these synthetic threat objects masks at random positions in baggage images (XRAY).
  • Object Detection: Improved the threat mask detection models used in production by CEERI by 12%. Findings from these research were used further by CEERI to develop and deploy more robust models.

Google Summer of Code (SymPy)

Student Developer
Remote (May 2021 - Aug 2021)
  • Control System Core API: Collaborated with my mentors - Naman Gera and Jason Moore, to build the Control System module under sympy.physics. It was supposed to be an open-source alternative to proprietary software such as MATLAB and Wolfram Mathematica. Extensively developed, documented, and tested core classes to support Linear Time-Invariant (LTI) control systems. Also laid the groundwork for supporting MIMO systems.
  • Control System Plots: Developed a backend (plotting b/e) independent module in tandem with the core control API for generating commonly used plots in control engineering. These include Pole-Zero, Bode, and Response Plots.

Featured Personal Projects

GPT-Resume

A fast and reliable AI-enabled resume-filtering web application build using Python (Django), Reactjs, and OpenAI GPT (3.5/4) API.

LPython Compiler

LPython is an Open-Source Python compiler project that aims to become an Ahead-Of-Time (AOT) compiler utilizing the speed, efficiency, and portability offered by the LLVM compiler infrastructure.

Skills

Problem Solving

As a STEM major, I possess exceptional general problem-solving skills honed through rigorous coursework and practical experience.

Python

Python has been my goto programming language ever since I started programming. I’ve been using Python for everything from automation, scripting, scientific computation (numerical, graphical, and symbolic), API development, bots, running exploits, ML, game development, and statistics. Moreover, I have also contributed to multiple open-source Python projects over the years.

JavaScript

JavaScript, and its typed sibling TypeScript, stands out as my preferred language for web application development. The unparalleled developer ecosystem, comprising diverse framework options, robust community support, and extensive user-base engagement, solidifies its position as the language of choice for web development.

Low-Level Programming

While my personal projects rarely call for it, I find immense satisfaction in writing simple programs in low-level programming languages. C serves as my primary choice for such programs, offering the precision and control necessary for low-level programming tasks. Furthermore, I possess substantial expertise in both the x86 and ARM assembly instruction sets, further enhancing my ability to work at the bare-metal level.

Shell Scripting

I use shell scripting for trivial system automation, file management, configuration management, and networking tasks.

Cloud Computing

I’m proficient in AWS. My expertise encompasses cloud computing fundamentals, infrastructure provisioning, deployment, and management, leveraging AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, AWS Lambda, and more.

Alma Mater

Master of Science (Honors) in Physics

Bachelor of Engineering (Honors) in Electronics and Instrumentation
